JULY 2008
Hello and Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ!
June came fast, and went away just as fast, and we were not able to get a letter posted! Either I am getting old or I am getting slow! BOTH!!!
In June we saw many things that sure helps us keep going! We started out the month in Lamar, Colorado. For the 14th year in a row we have made that meeting. This meeting each year continues to amaze us as to how many souls come to Jesus! This year it was 16 precious souls! The committee that puts this camp together spend months in prayer and planning. Each evening before the supper meal, a prayer meeting is held and in all our meetings, there is none that compare to the number of men that will come and pray! Thank the Lord for these men who are sold out to Jesus!!
We preached the Lenapah Cowboy Camp this year, which was the 25th year of operation. It was a difficult camp due to having to move from the orginal camp site due to a bridge being washed out. The committee had decided to move all the children and youth to another camp so all that were at the camp this year were the adults.
From there to Hagerman, Idaho, then to Wendell, Idaho, and Jackpot, Nevada. These are all small congregations and for several years Mary and I have been going to that area to minister. We saw the Lord save some souls, saw good crowds, and was blessed because Jeff and Donna Gore traveled with us again this year to lead the music. We really appreciate them very much. They are very interested in reaching souls for Jesus, and have a lot of compassion for the work there. Jeff and Donna are always ready to help with what ever the Lord has us to do. Things like setting up and taking down the tent, working in the mission VBS projects, always ready to minister to those with needs. They spend time with the people, visiting, sharing and praying for them. On top of all that, they do a tremendous job with the music! Music is so important to a meeting, and the people can tell if the music leaders are there to entertain or to minister, with Jeff and Donna Gore, they are there to minister and everyone can feel it and see it.
We moved on to Mount Hope, Kanas. Once again, we were blessed to work with O.V. and Tommy Keith who led the music. This couple are also like the Gores, there to minister and to help the people. When the Keiths do a meeting you know they have prayed, prepared and planned! We presented the Signs of the Second Coming Bible Study, and it was a very good meeting. On Sunday morning a young couple came foward praying to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior! There were others during the week that indicated they had done the same!
Mary and I are so blessed to be able to go to places like those where we have been in June and July. We traveled thousands of miles, spent well over $3000.00 in diesel fuel alone, but saw over 25 souls saved in those meetings. The love offerings no way came close to covering the fuel costs, but we thank the Lord for His providing through people. People who have a love for seeing souls saved and lives changed in all areas of our country, in all sizes of congregations. May the Lord continue to bless those who care and share!
Thank you for your interest in our work, and may the Lord also bless each and everyone who takes the time to make a difference in the lives of people!
Until next time, take care, have fun, and may the Lord use you in His work, in a tremendous way!
In Christ,
Steve and Mary
